Ah, there you are!
Ah, there you are!
Hello you,
I found you! If you’re reading this, then I already feel as though I know you a little. You are like me… you recognise and share my fondness for small details, quiet beauty, and stories that linger.
Welcome to my little corner of the world.
This blog is an extension of my illustrations, a place where history softly hums in the background, florals climb the margins, wildlife pauses to watch, and literature leaves its well-thumbed traces everywhere. I wanted this first post to feel like opening the door, putting the kettle on, and inviting you to sit awhile.
A Little About What You’ll Find Here
My work is inspired by the things that have always made me slow down.
Old books with foxed pages and handwritten notes in the margins. Seasonal flowers that appear faithfully each year, as though keeping ancient promises. Wildlife glimpsed unexpectedly — a fox at dusk, birds bickering over seed, a badger-shaped shadow disappearing into the hedgerow. And history, not the grand, distant kind, but the everyday lives, rituals, and objects that once mattered deeply to someone else.
This blog will be where I share:
The inspirations behind my illustrations, the things I’ve seen, noticed, and quietly admired.
Interior inspiration rooted in warmth, character, spark and storytelling driven by seasonal celebrations, the old, the overlooked, and the newly invented.
Historical facts and curiosities that deserve another telling, giving an insight into how the old ways have impacted the way we live our lives and celebrate life.
Nothing here will be rushed. This is not a place for perfection or polished conclusions, only for noticing, wondering, and appreciating.
Why I’m So Glad You’re Here
There’s something quietly reassuring about finding people who love the same things you do. If you’re drawn to history, florals, wildlife, and literature, then chances are you understand the comfort of traditions, the romance of the past, and the beauty of small, everyday magic. I make my illustrations for people like us, those who notice the curve of a leaf, the weight of a story, the way a season announces itself before the calendar does. And if this space feels familiar to you, then I’m genuinely glad our paths have crossed.
Think of this
blog as an ongoing conversation. Some days I’ll share the story behind a piece
of artwork, other days a seasonal ritual I love, a historical detail that
captured my imagination, or an interior that feels like it has a story to tell.
You don’t need to rush through it. Dip in when you like. Return when the mood strikes. Leave with an idea, a feeling, or simply a moment of calm. If you have the time, why not follow my artistic journey on my social platforms, where we can interact and I can get to know you better.
For now, thank you for being here. Thank you for being curious. And thank you, sincerely, for appreciating the same quiet, beautiful things.
I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Warmly,
Sarah
Thyme & Tale
